The problems banks have with mortgages will take a long time to be solved and bank stocks are not attractive despite the recent drop in price, Jim Rogers, chairman of Rogers Holdings, told CNBC Wednesday.

Gold is likely to stay above $1,000 this year, with room to rise further, says Mike McChesney, CEO of Vantage Goldfields. He talks to Greg Bundy of AIMS Financial, and CNCB’s Oriel Morrison and Sri Jegarajah, as the junior miner lists on the Australian market today.

“The bond vigilantes are one by one picking off the weakest countries starting with Greece,” Neil Michael from London & Capital told CNBC Wednesday. The “vigilantes” are telling governments to “get a grip of their public finances,” he added.

The Bank of England left interest rates and its quantitative easing program unchanged Thursday, as expected. Lothar Mentel, CIO from Octopus Investments, and Anthony Gibbs from Vantage Capital Markets, discuss the outlook.
