“This year we are expecting moderate growth… The discovery we made last year was that export dependence is also vulnerability,” Danilo Turk, the president of Slovenia, told CNBC Friday. The recent weakness of the euro is a good thing for Slovenia, he added.
UK Prime Minister David Cameron laid out plans to boost business activity in the UK Monday. John Conolly, CEO of Deloitte, told CNBC that Cameron had got off to a good start with his policies.
The German cabinet approved a draft bill to ban naked short selling of euro zone government bonds and German shares Wednesday, but an outright ban has been postponed. Rüdiger von Rosen from Deutsches Aktieninstitut said that investors are responsible for their judgment.
