“We do not contemplate the possibility of a double-dip recession… It’s not impossible, but it is not something that we think is likely,” Jose Vinals, financial counselor and director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department from the IMF, told CNBC Thursday. Amartya Sen, author of The Idea of Justice, joined the discussion.
There is an 80% or more chance the euro zone will lose members within the next two years, Erwin Grandinger from EPM Financial Services Group said citing the group’s clients. He added that part of the problem is having no direct communication between politicians and the markets.

The G20 is more political than it is economic and may not be the right forum for deciding economic issues such as banking levies, Moorad Choudhry from London Metropolitan University said. However, he said no firm policy announcement will be made by the G20 and the upcoming meeting is just a stepping stone on the way to a policy.
